Botox and Fillers in Hyderabad

Lines from movement and folds from volume loss are different problems. AB Skin Clinic discusses botulinum toxin and fillers only after examining the face.

Overview

Botulinum toxin and dermal fillers are listed together on the AB Skin Clinic service menu, but they do different jobs. Botulinum toxin relaxes specific muscles that crease the skin when you frown, squint, or lift the brows. Fillers, most often hyaluronic acid gels in contemporary practice, occupy space. They may be discussed for a fold, a lip, or an area that looks flatter than it used to. Neither product is a facial analysis you can finish from a photograph, and neither is required just because a birthday has passed.

Concerns this visit may address

People ask about vertical frown lines, horizontal forehead lines, and crow’s feet that remain even when the face is at rest. Others are bothered by a fold from the nose to the mouth, a lip that has thinned, or a temple that looks hollow in photographs. Some want a conservative change before a family event. A few have had treatment elsewhere and want a second opinion because the result feels uneven or heavy.

Who may benefit from an evaluation

An evaluation is reasonable if a line bothers you in ordinary light and has not improved with moisturiser or sunscreen. It is also reasonable if you want to know that you do not need an injection. Many people leave with a skincare plan only. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, certain nerve or muscle conditions, and upcoming dental or facial procedures change timing. A tendency to bruise, a history of cold sores, or previous filler that is still in the tissue should be mentioned before any plan is made.

Say early if you want a new identity rather than a small change in one line. The clinic can decline.

Possible contributing factors

Repeated expression etches lines over years. Sun exposure thins support and makes those lines easier to see. Weight change, dental work, and sleeping position can alter how folds sit. Fillers and toxin do not repair sun damage by themselves. Smoking and very low body weight can make the face look more hollow, but injecting volume is not a treatment for those habits.

Genetics influence brow shape, lip proportion, and how quickly the skin creases. Filters and close-up phone cameras exaggerate pores and shadows. Part of the consultation is agreeing on what is visible in the mirror at a normal distance.

How a dermatologist evaluates the concern

The face is examined at rest and while you frown, smile, and raise the brows. The doctor looks for brow heaviness, eyelid skin, and asymmetry you may already have. Folds are pressed and watched to see whether they are a shadow from volume, a true crease, or both. Skin quality, pigment, and acne are noted so an injection is not used to solve a surface problem.

Medical history covers allergies, blood-thinning medicines, previous toxin or filler, and dental or sinus issues when the mid-face is involved. Photographs may be taken for the record. The plan, if any, names the product category, the area, and what it will not change. You should have time to refuse.

Treatment approaches that may be discussed

Botulinum toxin may be discussed for frown, forehead, or eye lines made by muscle pull. Hyaluronic acid filler may be discussed for a selected fold or hollow. No dose is set on this page. Sunscreen, retinoids when appropriate, chemical peels, and lasers can matter more than a syringe. The skin treatments list keeps those options separate so they are not bundled by default.

How the treatment works

Botulinum toxin blocks the signal at the junction between nerve and muscle in the treated area. The muscle rests, and the overlying crease softens over days, not instantly. Movement gradually returns as the effect wears off. Fillers occupy space and can bind water, which is why swelling after treatment is expected for a short time. The gel is placed at a depth chosen for that facial layer. Both treatments are local. They do not stop ageing elsewhere on the face.

What happens during a consultation or procedure

After the examination and consent, the skin is cleaned. Ice or a topical anaesthetic may be used. Injections take minutes, but the discussion should take longer than the injections. You sit up so symmetry can be checked. You are told which sensations are ordinary, such as small bumps or tightness, and which need a call, such as skin colour change, severe pain, or vision symptoms. A review visit may be suggested when toxin has taken effect or if a filler needs assessment.

You can book a consultation at KPHB or Manikonda.

Preparation guidance

Arrive with a clean face if you can, and with a list of medicines, including painkillers, supplements, and acne tablets. Tell the clinic if you have a dental infection, a rash, or a cold sore. Avoid planning the treatment for the same day as a major event. If you have had filler before, bring the name of the product if you know it. Do not stop a prescribed blood thinner unless the doctor who prescribed it agrees.

Aftercare and recovery

Small bruises and swelling are common. Avoid pressing or massaging the area unless you were told to. Skip strenuous exercise, saunas, and face-down massage for the interval the clinic specifies. Toxin results are judged after several days, not in the car park. Filler swelling can look uneven on day one and then settle. Makeup can usually wait until the skin is calm. Call the clinic for increasing pain, mottled skin, fever, or any change in vision.

Risks, limitations, and realistic expectations

Toxin can cause a heavy brow, an uneven smile, or eyelid ptosis if it affects a neighbouring muscle. These effects are uncommon in careful hands and are still possible. Fillers can bruise, form lumps, or, rarely, cause vascular compromise that injures skin or, in the worst cases, vision. That is why filler is a medical procedure, not a beauty-counter service. Infection and allergy are uncommon and still part of consent.

Lines will return as toxin wears off. Filler also changes over months. Neither treatment stops new sun damage. Overfilled faces are a choice this clinic’s published tone does not encourage. A conservative result that still looks like you is a more honest goal than a filtered photograph.

What influences suitability and results

Muscle strength, brow position, skin thickness, and previous product still in the face all change the plan. A person with very heavy lids may be a poor candidate for forehead toxin. A person with a skin infection is a poor candidate for filler that day. Expectations matter as much as anatomy. If the hope is to erase every pore, injectables will disappoint. If the hope is a softer frown while you consider skincare, the discussion is more straightforward.

Why professional dermatology guidance matters

These products are medicines and devices used on a face that also blinks, chews, and expresses emotion. A dermatologist is trained to recognise when a line is actually a scar, a pigment issue, or a medical condition, and when not to inject. Emergency judgment matters for the rare vascular problem after filler. Choosing a clinic that will also say no is part of safety.

Frequently asked questions

People use the word Botox for botulinum toxin. The clinic decides which product to use, if any, and does not publish a dose here. The medicine relaxes muscle. It does not fill a hollow. If your concern is volume rather than movement, toxin alone will not answer it, and the consultation should say so before you consent. Suitability is an in-person decision, including whether no injection is the better plan.
